Following the events of the last book Seraphina and Zen have been separated once again and are living in different centuries, unable to reach each other. But Sera doesn't seem to mind - she has moved on and is living with the enemy in the Diotech compound, passionately in love with the only other person in the world created by scientists and genetically programmed to be her soulmate.
