Between action and humour, the peregrinations in Tibet of a trio of colourful characters: the young Parisian bourgeoise, the captain of the NGIG and the Tibetan monk.
After a hostage-taking, Alex, the captain of the NGIG obsessed by his job, must save a Tibetan personality close to the Dalai Lama. A succession of events leads him to the high Himalayan plateaux flanked by a celebrity journalist, Charlotte Bâton de la Butte, and a Buddhist monk. Those characters who have absolutely nothing in common will discover the Khampa nomads and a mysterious naldjorpa, « a man with secret words ». At the end of the adventure are other paths that neither Alex nor Charlotte thought to take one day!
