On the occasion of the 2016 exhibition 1001 Steidl Books in Singapore, artists from across Asia were invited to submit book dummies for the Steidl Book Award Asia. In January 2017, eight photographers, selected by Gerhard Steidl, came to Göttingen and the Steidl presses to make their books. This limited-edition box set, published in a run of 200 copies, includes the eight winning books and other printed literature accompanying each title. The photographers are Zhang Lijie, Kapil Das, Woong Soak Teng, Jongwoo Park, Robert Zhao Renhui, Yukari Chikura, Broy Lim and Jake Verzosa.
