In 1959, municipal workers discovered a complex and ancient underground network inside Croix-Rousse hill in the city of Lyon, France. Keeping the discovery secret from the public, city workers explored the 2.5 kilometers of underground tunnels, identifying 32 short tunnels that branch off a main tunnel or vertebra, much like the skeleton of a fish, giving birth to its moniker "Arêtes de Poisson" or FishBones. A network perfectly constructed with an extremely coherent and homogenous architecture: architects unknown, purpose unknown, an intricate labyrinth, and the remains of some 200 humans neatly deposited-mysteries.
Is it possible that, under the cover of the Knights Templar, men spent two centuries surveying the Holy Land, discovering the caches of treasure and secret writings listed on the famous Copper Scroll? Was Guillaume de Beaujeu, as Grand Master, responsible for placing these treasures in a safe place?
It seems as though a clandestine watch has been kept over the FishBones throughout the centuries: during the 17th century, several religious congregations came to settle upon the land, all with strange affiliations. Between the 18th and 19th centuries, Freemasons like Jean-Baptiste Willermoz frequented the area and documents show that they were aware of the existence of the FishBones.
Tracking the transmission of the FishBone's secret, while struggling to keep the city of Lyon from destroying part of the labyrinth leads to tangible evidence that a treasure was indeed kept in the bowels of Croix-Rousse hill. Riddles and codes, mysterious appointments, symbols, clues and cryptograms; the mystery continues as new information as recent as 2016 has surfaced....
