Many survived that terrible war and returned home, some to tell their own stories, others trying to forget what they had experienced. The third that didn't make it are commemorated on the town's war memorials and buried in cemeteries across the world. Here's to the Men of Alton is a collection of personal stories of courage and sacrifice to provide a lasting tribute to those ordinary heroes who left their community a century ago.
