Shirïn Samii was born in Iran. Having completed her secondary education in her country, she pursued her university education in political science at the University of Lausanne. Upon returning to Iran, she worked at the Iranien Women's Organisation, as head of head of the Department of Research and International Relations of the IWO. In that capacity, she was engaged in proceedings of the Third Commission Of UN General Assembly when the Islamic revolution broke out. Since then, she has lived in Paris. She has published two books in French: Sous le règne du shah and Croyances populaires en Iran, Paris, 2005, edited by L'Harmattan and some other books in Persian, edited by Ketab Corp Los Angeles, among them one on Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh's private's life.
