To make matters worse, her mom is making her walk her cousin Merry, who has Down Syndrome, home from school every day. Edie joins the school musical thinking it will solve her problems--she'll meet new friends and get out of looking after Merry--only Edie isn't sure she can pull off the play by the time the curtains open.
